As a travel writer, journalist, and author, Sally had a destiny with Asia. For more than fifteen years she had covered Asian culture in the Bay Area for newspapers and magazines. She found ways to see Asia through planning, persuasion, and good luck. She wrote about remnants of very old Asia that had not been influenced by the West. Sometimes her ticket was writing a magazine article as well as help from country tourism offices and airlines.
She lives in San Francisco where she tends to a large garden and goes hiking in the Bay Area. With her long-time partner she has traveled to the Caribbean, Central America and new destinations in Asia.
She holds a master’s degree in Asian studies from Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Museum of Art. She has contributed to publications such as the New York City Tribune, the San Francisco Chronicle’s travel section, and Yoga Magazine.
